Identifying songs
TNZ isn’t hearing anything
TNZ needs the microphone. Open the Settings app, tap Apps, then TNZ, and turn on Microphone. Move closer to the music if it’s quiet or the room is loud.
How do I identify music playing on my iPhone or iPad?
Tap Identify in TNZ, then switch to the app that’s playing. Your music keeps playing while TNZ listens, and TNZ sends a notification with the song and its cover when it finds it. Allow notifications for TNZ to see them. You can turn this off in TNZ’s Settings, under Listening: Keep listening in other apps.
Can I start TNZ without opening the app?
Yes. Touch and hold your Lock Screen, tap Customize, then add the Identify a Song control. It’s in Control Center too, you can assign it to the Action button, and you can say “Identify a song with TNZ” to Siri.
TNZ couldn’t find the song
Some recordings, like live versions, DJ mixes or very new or unreleased tracks, may not be in the catalog yet. Try again during a clear part of the song, away from talking or noise.
Why are some details missing for a song?
TNZ only shows facts it can verify against the exact recording. If sources disagree or a detail can’t be confirmed, TNZ leaves it out rather than risk showing something wrong.
Listening and playback
How do I play full songs instead of previews?
If you subscribe to Apple Music, open TNZ’s Settings and tap Connect Apple Music to play full songs. Full songs play in TNZ from then on. Without a subscription, TNZ plays 30-second previews.
Do I need Apple Music?
No. Everything in TNZ works without it, and every song links to Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer, SoundCloud, Pandora and more.
TNZ Pro and purchases
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, open TNZ, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose TNZ. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal. Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What does Lifetime include?
Everything in TNZ Pro, forever, with a single payment, plus your own founding-member celebration.
Link Studio
Where do my smart links live?
At getflyer.app/m/ followed by your chosen address. Smart links are made with FLYer Social Smart Links, so anyone with the link can open the page and play the song on their service. You’ll find every link you’ve made in TNZ’s Settings, under Your smart links, ready to open, copy or share.
How do I change or remove a smart link?
Write to support@tnz.app with the link’s address and we’ll update or remove it for you.
Song Map, history and sync
Songs aren’t appearing on my map
Check that Pin songs where you find them is on in TNZ’s Settings, and that TNZ can use your location while the app is in use (Settings app, Apps, TNZ, Location).
My history isn’t syncing
Syncing is part of TNZ Pro and uses your iCloud account. Make sure you’re signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on each device and that iCloud Drive is on.
